Things mothers say

My mother called me on the phone (landline), this was the conversation...

Mum...'Hello, love. Where are you?'
Me....'I'm round the corner at my friend's house, where do you think?'
Mum...'Awww! You know what I mean!'

Yes Dingo, it was. Let me explain...
SHE had called Me, I had answered the phone, so I couldn't possibly be anywhere but my living room, yet she asked where I was. I'm sorry if it went over your head, I shall try to explain better next time.

My mom always calls me on my cell now...of course before I moved out I rarely ever talked to her on the phone.
Actually...I receive most of my calls here in my room.

My cell just sits in my purse, most of the time.
I think my mom has both my cell & my home number though.

Heck, my cordless can go to my neighbors house without a problem... not that I often bring it with me to answer incoming calls.

i took my cordless i bought from my room in the basement when i was talking to my buddy who lives at the next street over and i walked over to his place while talking to him, and when he asked me over i simply knocked on his door.

good times.

its like a 5 minute walk to his place. good phone

My brother and I took our middle-aged, overweight dog for a walk down to the river.  My mom gave us the cellphone and told us that if the dog got tired, we should call her and she'd come take us home in the car (so he wouldn't have a heart attack or something).  Fortunately, the dog is a trooper and managed to get all the exercise.  As we were coming home, my brother and I decided to joke with our mom.  We called her and informed her that we were at the corner half a block away and the dog was tired, would she come pick us up?

The sad part is that she agreed without hesitation.

to keep myself alittle on topic...

One thing that i laugh at every time i hear is when my mother (or most of my friends) are to order a pizza.

Because when they have called the pizza place the first thing all of them say is "Hi, i would like to order a pizza"... thats so stupid lol. They must have so fun picking up the calls, its like "no really? you want a pizza? hey i thought you called us because you wanted to get your car fixed"...

its just too stupid IMO lol

Well, I would certainly reply with something along the lines of "pizza, pizza, pizza! everything everyone wants from me is a pizza! I wish someone would at least once ask me how I was doing, what's up, but noooo, all they have to say is that THEY WANT A FRIGGIN PIZZA!"

My mother was a grand master at stating the obvious and coming out with things like the well-known 'If you fall and break your legs, don't come running to me!' Another day, I ran in out of a massive storm and stood dripping water all over the carpet and she says to me 'Awww! Did you get wet, love?'
