How does Master scouting work?

This is what it is said in the rule book.

Master: Master Scouting gives the hero a +4 scouting radius and the ability to learn the skills of enemy heroes. The hero can see enemies with Master Stealth on the Adventure Map. Required to learn Master Stealth.

How? And how well does this skill work.

Will you learn from every encounter....Or the ones that you win?

You see, you win a lot ! There is not only Master Scouting, there can be Grand Master also... Scouting reviels map around you and removes the fog of war (because of that Scouting is a great skill), you can also learn everything about creatures and heroes, just right-clicking on them. It will tell the exact number of creatures, prognosis for your victory or loss and the ability to view a hero's spells and skills and artifacts... That's because Scouting is more better, than in heroes 3...

I was more refering to "and the ability to learn the skills of enemy heroes." Part.

Is this just to see the enemy hero skills or to learn the skills of them?

This is what I have been thinking about.

Nope. To learn skills, means that, you will know, what skills and spells your enemy has.

EDIT: You welcome !

With GM Scouting, right click on an enemy army. At the bottom of the information window click on an icon, which will take you to the army screen (the same as the army screen you would get after double-clicking your own army)

Does anyone actually get it up too GM Scouting?  I mean there is so many other usefull things to get most of the time.  Either Combat or Tactics.  I don't think i have seen anyone go beyond expert with it.  I think that's about all you need really.  Especially when at those higher levels you need so much experience to get the next level that you can't aford too waste the level up on others.

In the campaigns, there's usually experience to waste. Not to mention you are granted free GM Scouting in the Bard campaign of TGS... GM Scouting was very useful in pre-2.0, because it let you get GM Stealth, and that gave you massive amounts of experience. That's gone now, fortunatelly.

Ok! I understand what master scouting is, but I also wonder if the computer still "sees" you when you have the stealth skill, ie the computer will ignore you when you're close to a computer controlled hero, even one with a greater army!

Otherwise, there is no use for the stealth skill.
Does anyone now?

As far as I can tell, AI is not bothered by either Stealth or even Fog of War. It can see you whenever you are whichever skills you have.
