I just tried that dulpendyr map, must say I liked it.
Good work, Sagamosa! The ambush-skill is what I liked most, it will help alot especially against shooters. And the swordsmanship is very nice too..
However, there are some things I donīt like: The critical hit is way too powerful when it happens, if for example, one troglodyte could kill the whole stack of chaos hydras.. IMO this skill should be replaced.
Other thing is that adventure spell really should not be magic advanced skill, they should be available for all heroes from the very beginning. At least without needing any special adventure spells-skill.
Otherwise very good ideas all! Will these scripts be included with future releases of WoG?

A few problems I had: the game crashed every time I wanted to hire an Emissary in the Temple. There are some bugs in quick combat,too: I'm offered to choose between two empty options when critical strike occurs. In addition, chant of battle sometimes doesn't give bonuses to any creatures in my army. Finally, for the life of me, I had no idea how to hire one extra stack to my army. The game showed me "leave guards" box but nothing worked.

I wish I was able to learn adventure spells with my might hero.I guess I'll have to replay the scenario again, huh? Oh, well. After all, replay value is also important.

Needless to say, all scripts are on professional level and the map is played as a mod within a mod.

It's an exciting addition to a great game.

My bug report

I finally managed to put the pictures in the right folder and i played your map for some hours. There is quite a lot to say:

1. I had to put the folder sagamosa in maps\zvs to make the pictures work. However the battle picture in arena is still black and the units leave shadows.

2. At the beginning of a week i receive window telling about
breeding(i have it as skill). There is a check box below the picture and the text is "Choose a damaging spell you want to cast". When i select this and press enter i receive the +10% bonus.

3. The description of Squire ends with "... her master". This should be "his master".

4. Critical hit seems to cause a LOT of trouble. If my unit gets critical hit i see the message with text, picture and two check boxes. The first has this text "..data\zvs\sagamosa\levels\Spying.jpg" or something similar and the second is empty. When i was at a temple and fought for emisarry the text was "try to hire God's emisarries". When i select one and press enter the stack dies as it should. BUT... if i hit a stack and don't kill it, after my attacker's move is over i receive the same dialog but there is no text inthe check boxes and the stack dies too. After some months the second check box disappeared but the first was still there. Even if i use quick combat the dialog appears on the adventure map. After some more time i received this error:

(i have ZVSLib1.dll_Errors.log)
and after this i received similar errors every time the weird critical hit took place. And when my hero got to level 30 and i had to choose skill the game crashed(i have WOGCRASHLOG.TXT) saying there is unhandled floating-point exception.

P.S.
IMP all the problems with missing pictures and critical hit come from wrong indexes of z vars. Here is an extract from

?? hard to say what's wrong. On my PC, it goes all right. The truth is that I changed te path to the picture folder at the last moment and had to go trough all the scripts and change the z var logging.
My only advice (at the moment) is as follows: All picture logging should be done by the ERT z variable Z192000 which is included in script80.ert in the first row. By playing around with this variable you may change the picture path without moving the "sagamosa" directory.
STE- have you managed to get the ent/balrog pics to run?
if yes, that's strange when you can't strat the arena background.
I found that the problem with the backgrounds is probably too long path to the picture (BA:F doesn't allow for more than 12 characters). Somebody moved the .pcx files (=battlefields) to the \data folder and canged the logging in the scripts
(arena - in enhanced arena script
balrog/ent - at the very end of AL - balrog&ent summonings)
You may try it.

Whoops, yae I know of this one. the problem is a ERM dialogue problem. It doesn't represent a big deal of a problem (only graphics, the function should be OK) Two dialogues are messed up (combat spells x breeding and sometimes critical hit)

Minor bug. Description should cange based on the sex of the squire (or master). It's automatic and working fine i think (true is that the squire picture is a boy, but...)

It's the same error as the one mentioned above - dialogues pictures and text messing up from diferent skills.
Should be easy to rectify by changing the dialogue number (always use new empty dialogue for the message)

I'm not sure but i think that part of the pics problems you could start on your own by moving the sagamosa directory to \maps folder, whoich is wrong if you don't change the %Z192000 accordingly.

The emmissary bug - i must check first, but i'm pretty sure that it works for me.
You want to say that you haven't hired emmisaries at all or just once the game crashed?

Command skill - you will not hire 8th stack, in fact you must place one of your own stacks in the "Leave Gurads" box and close it. At this moment you will "loose" your stack (it's remembered by the command skill) from your hero.
You may check (and change) the command stack in the same menu (text should change to someting like Change your additional battalion)
In the battle, the 8th stack should be automatically included in your starting army and after the end of battle taken out.

You may in fact. That's what i do quite often. I start for the fisrt 5 levels as a magic hero to get the AS skill (remember you may change proffesions by clicking on the name of it!) and then change back to might hero to get the battle skills i like (and alos ATT/DEF more often)

Well I got some error messages with ambush-skill too when fighting against map creatures.. Though I havenīt tested it against enemy heroes (didnīt met the other one). But no problem, the skill still worked well.

The Temple bug seems to occur in quick combat only. Normally I was able to fight messangers and choose an emissary.

I managed to get my 8th stack the way you told me. Unfortunately, my 140 Harpy Hags turned into 140,000 for the duration of two battles... then disappeared for good. *sniff*

I got several messages about my Squire helping me out, although I didn't have that skill.

Being much stronger than my computer opponent, I decided to take my chances and turned my might hero into a magic one. My spellpower points were lost and added to my attack. However, later on I was not able to regain any spellpower although I visited star axis, school of magic, order of fire in Inferno etc...

The AI got some error messages, too, but I'm afraid I don't recall them now.

The AI turns lasted FOREVER, but this may be a WoG problem, not yours.

I hate to say it, but the very scenario is a bit boring. While the adventure map looks nice, the gameplay is dull. It took me several months to meet the first blue hero. When I got the wings I finished the map too fast, within a week. Sadly, I had neither way nor need to dig into the underground.

Oh, well. I'm restarting the game as a magic hero now!

P.S. "Garlic Breath Behemoths"?! LOL

sagamosa - well, i never play quick combat battles in the first place, so my scripts are not optimized for it. My advice - don't use it.

sagamosa - ok, i checked the script once and found some errors. On my page you can find the updated "dulpendyr.h3m" map with the most up-to-date download. I tested it on cca 5 battles and no errors identified. Test it for yourself now, please.

sagamosa - Ok, this is a serious problem. I changed my profession many times and haven't a slightest problem.
The script change should work like this:
1) if you are on lvl 1 or 5 or any multiple of 5 you should get the change for free.
2) on any other level you must "pay" for the change, it will cost you some levels (you must get back to the 5 multiple - eg. if you are on lvl 14, the change will cost you 4 levels (to get to 10 lvl) and a 4 random primary skill points will be deducted from your account.

So any other effect is a bug and must be corrected.
Vlaad, did it happen every change of proffesion you tried?

sagamosa- i never had any major speed problems with the map on my PC, apart from beeing in the temple building and choosing the flag mine quest, which takes some time (must loop through all mines, which takes long time)
The AI plays some normal turns.
I updated the AI behaviour a bit and it could be faster now. Check the new dulpendyr map offered on my page.

sagamosa - i built the map for the hot seat 2 player battle (or 3 players but the underground is not finished yet). I've always liked the huge battles best, to built a massive army and meet your opponent in a superbattle after some months.
So the map is built on purpose in such a way, it's very complicated to get to the opponent.
But feel free to change it for ypurself or use the scripts in some other map of yours.

I've just checked the autosave: I had chosen the skill to hire an additional stack, it worked for several battles (although with reported bug - take a look yourself: http://www.strategyplanet.com/homm/images/photo/index.asp?id=477810). Then I lost my Harpies for good and somehow aquired the Squire skill. It seems I still have it (according to my hero's screen info), although I can't use it. I got error messages several times and that was it.

Is it possible that some scripts overlapped...?

It happened when I was level 30, and it was the only time I tried it.

Again, it wasn't your fault. By the way, it's interesting that AI played normally next time I loaded the saved game, and vice versa.

i forgot to delete that little script from my map.
It was all made for one of my frieds who I was positive will enter the statue building.

That's just a nonsense, which should make him lough.

I have received it but i haven't entered any statue. Sometimes i receive it in the beginning of my turn or during the AI's turn

An old bug, still happens all the time whenever AI visits certain WoG objects.

My favourite bug is when AI is offerred a choice whether to take some bonus or not, and I can choose for them. Heh heh.

By the way, I wish I knew why level 8 dwellings in the middle of unexplored territory become visible when AI flags them.

I was wondering too and when i asked Slava told me that he did it to allow players to be notified when someone gets these powerfull monsters. So it is not a bug at all.

Sagamosa, I know I'm late, but just wanted you to know that I've finished playing the map as a magic hero (I started as might, of course, and reached level 10 - that critical hit is way too powerful! ).

This time there were no bugs.

Again, it would be nice if you included several balanced opponents - the gameplay would be more interesting.

However, it's an excellent scenario... a mod within a mod! Here's hoping we'll see your work in 3.59. It deserves to be there.
