Stronghold and Fortress are the cheapest I think.

Ok people .... thanks for helping me .... although the answers wasn't what i expected , i'm glad that i found out which is the cheapest town ..... But i have another question ... which is the best castle regarding the cost-monster power-spell power point of view.....

Stronghold units give a lot of bang for a reasonable amount of buck - one vs one, Ancient Behemoths kick the crap out of Archangels, which are a lot more expensive.
When it comes to magic, Tower is the only one that can give you two lv5 spells in one guild. The possibility of town portal and implosion in the same town is tempting, no?

if u wanna pure power, then stronghold and fortress imo are the two towns to chose. They dont give much in magic (only 3 lvls) but have good att and/or def ratings.

Ah but a choice such as that can be your downfall! If you have no magic then your opponent comes w/a strong force of Tower troops he'd probably own you.  He could mass slow you or mass haste himself. Blind your stronger troops or improve his ranged units attacks. Those titans would eat you alive! So keep some good magic instead of just brute force!

Ok .. you're rigth .. but imagine that you are with Tower and your opponent is with Doungen and owns the Power of the dragon father ... what will magic do in this case ???

Not true, archangels beat behemoths by a small margin.

Thanks for the welcome TitaniumAlloy ... As for gorman .. think about this ... In the Stronghold you have the level 3 megic guild and Tower has level 5 + library.... But the Stronghold hero has the recanters cloack ... so the higher magic doesn't work .. and the artifact is easy to get ... so the battle turns to the side of the stronghold by my opinion I stil like brute force the most

and most importantly, under real game circumstances (heroes have some attack/defense skills) the behemoths already win :-)
well - so very different units, behemoths are a level 7 destroyer, archangels are versatile fast fighters

it does, like gold and black dragons are the best for armageddon slinging players, etc.
IMO Archangels are the best, because, well theyre stronger on their own if you have 1000 Archangels vs 1000 Ancient Behemoths, with no spells or anything else, the angels will win.
