The Castle. Strenghts and weaknesses. Creature rankings.
This thread is about the castle creatures. We begin with the pikeman: his history, is he the best lvl 1 ceature? ,what is his rank among lvl 1 creaturs?

I think the Pikeman is the best lvl 1 creature although it has 2 less Hp than the centaur.It also has less speed but has greater attack skill ... but i'm not sure .. the pikeman could be second

Well, I would rank Cenatur 1st and Pikemen maybe 2nd...
He is a good unit though. Many of my early battles with Castle that looked bad 4 me were turned in the end by my last living stack of pikeman. 
very decent and reliable unit.

I agree, the pikeman is the 2nd lvl1 creature. Well, u could say something about the halberdier too...

Halbardier...
+1 speed, +2 attack, +1 min dmg
makes him able to deal more dmg and get to the opponent more quickly.
All in all a decent upgrade to a good lvl1

So lets move on to the archer...here's what I found:
"In medieval Europe, the value of archery on the battlefield steadily increased. The Mongols perfected archery on horseback, and used it to dominate the Asian steppes, and eastern Europe. Horse archers would fire while approaching their target, then turn around in the saddle and fire again after they passed.
By the Hundred Years' War, the English had perfected archery on foot, using a longbow. Archers were drawn from the peasantry, and trained rigorously from childhood. In combat, they would often fire two arrows, one on a high trajectory, and one on a low trajectory. These two arrows would hit the enemy simultaneously from two different angles, making defense difficult. The advent of the bodkin point allowed arrows to pierce most armor.
The crossbow, while dating from classical times, became quite popular during the Middle Ages. While it took decades to train a longbowman, someone could become proficient with a crossbow with little training. The crossbow had about the same power and range as a longbow. Its major drawback was that it took a long time to reload.
The advent of firearms rendered bows obsolete in warfare. A gun could penetrate most armor, and required minimal training."
I think he's in the top 5 of lvl 2 creatures...

well, the archer is quite nice, maybe not as good as other lvl2 units/shooters - but with his upgrade and therefor 2 shots he gets real worthy for any army!

...however...he's weak, I mean he's almost nothin to the air elemental, magog, harpy hag...The marksman(also means sniper?) is better though...

Griffin - useless when not upgraded
When upgraded it has better speed and is quite a good offense creature

The centaur has 2hp less than the Pikemen, Halberdiers and Centaur Captains not the other way around.
It's a tough choice between these as to the best first level unit. Not upgraded the pikemen are come in second, in my opinion, to the Centaurs. Now the Halberdiers (upgraded pikemen) are better than centaurs but not better than centaur captains.
But don't forget about the Fortresses Gnolls they are pretty tough and do good damage.
Here is my rating of the 1st level guys...
UnUpgraded: 1. Centaurs 2. Pikemen 3. Gnolls 4. Trogladytes 5. Skeletons 6. Goblins 7. Imps 8. Pixies 9. Gremlins
Upgraded: 1. Centaur Captains 2. Halberdiers 3. Sprites 4. Master Gremlins 5. Gnoll Marauders 6. Infernal Trogladytes 7. Skeleton Warriors 8. Familiars 9.Hob Goblins

Swordsman and Crusader
Swordsman - A not so good creature. Very slow and not much damage.
Crusader - much better than swordsman, because of the attack twice specialty, in other words double damage. And i am not sure that the all the other upgrades crusader gets (like better damage, better attack (+2), and +1 speed) is worth 100 gold. Is it too little or too much?Or fine?

Yalls need to look in the previous pages way back then.
You will hear from the experts of the game i9ncluding me in details on every creature & the castles.
The best & prefered way to build up your castle & why it is that important.
The best creatures & the worst but depending (ALWAYS DEPENDING) on the map & the richness of your native territory & outcome.
Why sometimes you need to balance gold in some extent.
Sure most will tell ya to build up & try to get the 7th lv dwelling & a castle in week 1 but there are some occasions, you really need a town hall.
Players that know me & played me respect my knowledge of this game.
If you want to know more about any questions, try taking the time to read the past in the previous pages, or if you need advice I will gladly help.
I trained & helped many players to become great.
