warning
as u read in the rules, i am to say at some point i am to announce that the tournement will end in 4 weeks. that day is today. on the 1st of june the tournament will end and the top 4 will go through to the finals. but dont worry, we should get through many riddles by then
now, darktitan thats right, 1 point.
next riddle
when i was a dectective the following event happened.
i was talking to a guard at the ariport about a theif that was planning to steal a famous painting tonight. i told him to search everyone for a painting and to be alert. i gave him my mobile number and went
i then went to the museum to keep watch for the theif. i recieved a phone all late at night from the guard. he said that a man had just tried to sneak out the mona lisa. i asked how and he said he tried to disguise it with some construction blueprints rolled up in a tube. the guard then said "get this, he even says he is totally innocent" at this point i said "i beleive him so let him go". how was i so sure???

Why would a guard at an airport make any difference whatsoever in searching for a painting that resides in a museum?

Stuck here...
Ok, I am stuck, but I will share my thoughts just in case any of you can solve this particular riddle...
1. I think the thief may either a be female or a mute (unable talk), thus validating the man's innocence.
Any other ideas?

no. i knew that the man was innocent before i moved from my spot. lets just say i was on the east side of the museum and the mona lisa was on the west so i didnt have time to go over and look.

My logic was this...when the suspect STATED that HE was innocent, I deduced that was what proved his innocence. Therefore, I figured the thief may be a female or someone who cannot talk. (Basically, I tried to solve the riddle in reverse, eliminating possibilities by focusing on the suspect instead of the painting or crime.)
Anyway, I had been doing a bit more brainstorming, and I came up with this idea...Perhaps the painting we are looking for is not a typical painting (such as a canvas painting), but instead the painting is a wall painting, cave painting, cieling painting, or some painting that cannot be rolled-up and put in a tube. Hope this helps someone figure this riddle out.

this one does seem a bit hard but i think someone will get it
heres is whats gonna happen if the riddle is not solved in several hours. soon i will close this riddle and give u guys a new riddle. i will not solve this riddle but it will be one of the riddles that the top players will recieve in the final.

I'm not sure, but maybe the painting had already been stolen? You said "was going to be stolen tonight" then you said "i got a call late at night", but it could have been the night after. I dunno, it's worth a shot
