Counters for marksmen: Deflect Missile, Wasp Swarm + Slow (to dispel haste) + Wall of Fog (if you have it) = neutralize them completely. Let's not forget Confusion, and other things.. but there is no such a reliable counter for Squires (except Wasp swarm).. they do more damage than marksmen (from far range marksmen do pathetic 1-4 damage, like Horned Overseers, and are slow like them). I still vote for Squires being better, having more than 2x hit points. With Wizard it's even better, you can use Motw on the Paladins, for example.. they will both be neutralized (ok, Paladins are faster though).
I didn't know Havez starts with War machines, 'cause I never played him (in fact never played Academy too much). But then I still think Nur is very good for most stuff, even at the end game.

Well I did make Titans without taking gold from chests too (wanted to see how far I can get without that gold).. so it doesn't seem like a real bullsh*t thing though.

I just wanted to point out that questioning his origin is rude. With no basis. All his screenshots are found on Chinese pages.
Furthermore, imagine this guy having seen a lot of trouble to coming to international fansites, sending tons of screenshots and sharing his strategies for us to use. And what he gets is called a cheater..

I'd never call him a cheater. He may be really a good player. Or he is just making fun of us. Whatever.

Hey lighten up! This guy has been treated poorly in two forums I know and met only disbelief. Heck even I wondered if that was a hoax at first-as I said he exaggerates a bit A fellow poster in the round table who is from Singapore has read the posts at the chinese forum and I doubt she is lying. And 86wyp provided the link himself.
A good way to react would be to at least try the strategy some times before dismissing it, everyone deserves at least that.

I just noticed that he got Unicorn horn bow on the Mystic's vale map. That can't be explained by anything else than this:
@GiveArtefact("Kaspar", 4);
Petty self-explaining isn't it. That, and the mega powerful army he got despite he took experience instead of gold, proves that he has cheated.

As for the unicorn horn bow and several other incinsistencies, what is your problem? Sure he stretched things a bit which I have already mentioned a few times. Believing everything you are told is stupid but so is dismissing something you have not seen for yourself. Sure the guy is arrogant and a little absolute in what he sais but that is no reason to attack him and his strategy, he came here to share it with us! And if you don't believe me as well at least don't be negative because none of you has tried it.

Alright, on Celestial Heavens there were 3 or 4 of them (the chinese heroes players) talking about the strategy. They all disappeared pretty quickly though. Why would you stay if every word out of your keyboard was declared a lie.
Anyway some people on celestial heavens have tried it out with varying results...the point is that magic and artifacts is what you DO with wizards...it makes the most sense.
Additionally, I was mad when they explained that there were rules in the match that they didn't say in the first post...rules like you have to fight within 35 days and you can't be in a castle etc.
But that doesn't lessen the idea of the strategy.
Anyway, some of the more experienced multi guys here at AoH have given more convincing arguments based on the game, mostly about how bad academies opponents are playing. The chinese response is that the academy strategy is so powerful so fast that the other player didn't have time to build up.
So did I miss something, or did Doomforge or Towerlord, or Dungeonian, or whoever likes playing multi, did they play against any of the chinese guys? I mean I figure this stuff would be easy to set up.

Well the examples of the first thread for MMR are quite strange.
BUT i have played academy with Havez and it is good strategy. The problem is that it have a lot of risks - if you don't get good spells or make mistake in the hero development.
Example : week 2 day 5:
magic guild lvl4 with Chainlightning(it rare but hapends)
Havez has 3 1 4 6 but i'm not sure for the lvl (around 7-8)
first i get the balista perk(lucky) on lvl 2
lvl 3 advance War machines
lvl 4 Motw
lvl 5 Tent
lvl 6,7 - destructive(thats rare too)
on week 2 day 5 i got the magic guild lvl 4
The map was from H5 basic MP maps.It was for 8 players(actualy we use only two slots) I cant remember the name of the map bu it was something like (Hamm...) and have dragon utopia in the center.
the bad point was that i had only grimlins, gargoyles and golems buildings - no resource of the magies and i get them on 3 week(not used them at all).
BUT the base point is that on day 5 week 2 i had chainy with Motw and balista = killer and the game was already decided.
At the start of the 4 week i managed to find my oponent(Sylvan actualy) and the game was over.
I think that even my oponent was with Dougal he can't change the way of the game.
Ofcource i had a lot of luck. And this is my conclusion: MMR is based on luck because you must get the right spells and the right skills.

Not as much as you'd think. In one of my tries I only got a lvl 2 destructive and the rest I could learn were the mine,wasp swarm, summon elementals and arcane armour. Only with library did I get a meteor shower but strangely enough I fared quite well until then, even with the ice bolt(and the evercold icicle).
Yes, no conjure phoenix hurts but for every other school than light, the chance to get a spell up to lvl 3 is 50%. Plus another chance with library which should be available by week 3 or 4.
After all there are shrines that teach magic around and sometimes scrolls, it's to hard to get crappier than what I got.

No and I have my reasons. Sorcery and enlightenment buff my already good summoning and destructive spells. I can only invest so much in my lvl-ups. Of course enlightenment could easily be swapped.
