Matt:

The Ranger’s expression clears. “A Time Flute? Good, good. That would help a lot.

The Pokémon I’m tracking is called a Fieberdra. They’re Helnith-native, about on par with Dragonite. This one is Shadowed. None of my Pokémon can take it, and from what I’ve seen of your team neither can yours. Don’t be offended, there aren’t many that could. But you have a Time Flute so we aren’t going to try. What we’ll need to do instead, after we find it, is keep it pinned in one place long enough for you to use that Flute and clear the Shadowing. Once it’s cleansed, we’ll be good to let it go.”

At the news of what happened to her poor shop, Mark's eyes widen and he says, "Oh! Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to bring up any painful memories... though I'm guessing that your tools would have been in the basement or a strongbox in the ruins, if there are any left, huh?" Pulling out his phone, Mark pulled up his map app ((IT'S BEEN SO LONG SINCE THIS HAS BEEN USED)) and he zoomed in on the town so that he had most of it on screen before holding it out for the flute maker. "Where in town was your shop... or wherever you kept your tools?"

Mark and Pinklady:

Ei points to it on the map.

((Photobucket is being stupid, so I put the map on the map tab under the region map for now.

1, 2, 3 – houses
Pink – Contest Hall
Yellow – Flute shop
Grey – Mart
Green Square – Incense Shop
Big blue circle – fountain
Little blue circle – well))

----------------

Matt:

"A...a dragonite? How the.... how did it become shadowed?"

“I don’t know, but they’re mostly native to the Shatterhigh Mountains, so it’s likely Bandra was involved somehow.”

"Where....where IS it?"

“I don’t know; they can fly – not well enough to avoid Ground attacks most of the time, but well enough to not leave tracks. So the first thing we’re going to need to do is find it.”

"Do you think we'll be able to free it before it...eats us?"

“I hope so, but I did say this was going to be dangerous,” the Ranger replies in his serious drawl. “I should also warn you they can hop into electronics like Porygon or Rotom. Heaven only knows how; they’ve been in those mountains longer than the electronics have existed, but they can.”

“Well, that’s about all the questions I can think of. Is there anything else that either of you would like to add?” Mark asked, looking between Pinklady and the flute maker. Glancing over atvthe shopkeeping couple, he sheepishly asked the lady that had been interrupting, “Or anything you think that I’ve forgotten?”

“The last report I got had it somewhere near town.” This statement is punctuated with a rumble of thunder and a particularly heavy spray of rain against the windows. “We’d actually do better to split up, so we can cover more ground faster. I was thinking one of us could ask around town to see if anyone has spotted it, and the other could search the area around it. Which would you rather do?”

Mark and Pinklady:

”Well, that’s about all the questions I can think of. Is there anything else that either of you would like to add?”

Ei is back to normal conversational tones. “I might not be here when you get back, darling, I’m staying with my nephew in Skybreak City, so make sure you come and visit when you’re done.”

“Or anything you think that I’ve forgotten?”

“I’m sure you’ll be fine, dearie, just remember to stock up on supplies before you go.”

Ranger Wain opens his mouth to say something, checks his phone, then closes it again before replying for real. “I guess it was your friends I gave that to, wasn’t it? Here you go.” He exchanges numbers with you. “Anything else?”

"Oh, I don't plan to, I've already lost enough bits!" He said, whirring his mechanical joint a bit before waving and bidding the group farewell.

Sending out Tattersail, he had the psychic type teleport him and Pinklady to the pokemon center so they didn't have to walk through the rain, and he asked his fellow trainer, "So, that was helpful. Gave us a few targets to sabotage... how do you think we should go about this?" Partially so he didn't have to talk through his ideas first, and partially so he could see how this basically a stranger other trainer thought.

"Well... I think it would be really useful to check out the nearby Safari Zone! If there's any chance the Bandra presence there is light, the volcanic activity would probably make them less willing to reinforce the area. From there, we could collect the soot the flute-maker needs and plan against the Bandra at Quibir more closely. Oh, right!"

She looks at the map again.

"The Pokemon Center would be a big help, too! Although it does make me a bit more worried there might be a lot of them there anyways... overall, though, I think it's a pretty worthwhile place to check out!"

Walking into the restaurant I smile and try to come off as warm and friendly before finding a waitress.
"Ah yes, hello, oh no I'm not here to eat or anything I'm... uh... quite broke actually... I was wondering if you've heard anything from people about a shadowed Fieberdra around terrorizing the populace? I'm here to...hopefully calm it down without any further incidents. Have you or anyone else in here heard of anything?"

Mark gave her a grin that could only be described as cheeky, and he said, "Well, we could use the Safari zone as our entrance, but we're planning to surf on our pokemon over to Quibir and that would probably take a day or two of travel around the peninsula. We'd also have to sail past a lighthouse and a port town that are both probably under Bandra control, and while we could land there first and try to take them, that gives Bandra warning that there are people sailing around in the area and they'll watch the coastline. So here's what I'm thinking..."

Reaching into his bag, Mark pulled out his prosthetic arm and rolled up his shirt sleeve so he could begin putting it on. "This is a small town that doesn't have its own power plant. If we can knock out its connection to the plant in Piez, it will take them days to re-establish it. If we do so at night, it should give us a few minutes at least where the Bandra people in town just think that it's a blackout. If we're lucky, they might even send a group out to investigate the power lines... but regardless, that will knock out most of the lights in town. So we'll have the cover of darkness when we move into town, and any building with a backup generator will have it turned on, making it easier to find with all that noise. We have a few nocturnal pokemon and dark types on our team that we can use to scout and warn us of wild pokemon or bandra's activities, so we should be able to hit the contest hall before they even know we're there. If we're lucky, we might even be able to search the flute maker's place for her tools."

"Anyway. After we knock out Bandra's ability to make poffins in Quibir, get those tools and teleport out any civilians that were there... then we leave town through the safari zone, so that we can collect volcanic ash for flutes and see what kinda pokemon are in the zone. After which, we can decide if we want to sail away or teleport back home." Still grinning, he attaches the last securing clamp of his arm and clenches his fingers with a mechanical whirr. "What do you think?"
