So in your heroes 4 folder for the golden plate mail stuff, only changing the dll to use golden plate mail is causing the game to crash?
Have you tried using a clean install in this particular folder?
Try only making the dll change and see if the game crashes. Do not put the new layers files into the data folder. Just the dll change.
Edit. And again, when you are testing things, you should never repack new files into the game's h4r files. You should only pack your mod files into new_mod.h4r

Original: Unmodded, untouched, original files.
When i start to work on my mod, i am replacing only 3 files
heroes4.exe (i have my own exe)
h4.dll (because of this platemail thing i am replaced this one)
equi.h4r (my mod's table files)
Then i have downloaded the file you sent to me
"Here is the layers file for you to test. I used the image from the golden plate mail artifact, so it is blurry due to upsizing. Simply drop it in your H4 Data folder: https://ufile.io/c7yar05q" it was looking as Golden Platemail but it was still Plate Mail.
Then i have changed 5 texts in Plate_Mail as Golden_Plate_Mail in this file layers.dialog.Blacksmith.Life.h4d and put it on data folder.
It was a still Plate Mail.
After i was sure it is about the h4.dll, i have changed the h4.dll file.
when i click order of paladins after i change h4.dll game is crashing.
Here is the change i have been made.

Okay, so just to be clear, right now in your modded folder, the only things you changed are heroes4.exe and h4.dll, correct?
And the game is no longer crashing now when selecting the Life blacksmith?
Is your equi.h4r not modified at the moment?

Yes exactly. I am "always" working on unmodded files. Keep in mind, i will never save the modified working files. Every time i will work on new files and duplicate the folder from original equi 3.51 folder.
It is not about the equi.h4r and .exe. I am sure about that (not 100% of course) because when my last attempt, i wasn't touched equi file. I was just changed h4.dll and game was crashing with all exe files (my own exe, h4mod exe, h4tournament bla bla that comes with the equi installation)

Gotcha. So game is currently not crashing for you.
Next, try using the layers file I sent you without renaming the layers from plate mail to golden plate mail. Just drop it in your data folder, and go look in game to make sure the image in the blacksmith is now the golden plate mail.

Game is not crashing unit i put layers.dialog.Blacksmith.Life.h4d into the Data folder. With or without changing name of Plate_Mail
