Well, all programing languages have their mlusses and pinuses!
I heard Basic programs have huge requirements compared to similar programs made in other languages. But it's quite simple and easy to learn. Good for a start.
Pascal. What can I say, the world's first SUD (Single User Dimension) was made in Pascal! And it's a Polish game, too!
C. It's way more complex then the two mentioned above, but if you're REALLY good, you might make your own Quake 4, or even an operating system!
There are many, many more other languages, each one with it's own strengths and weaknesses.

Lol I can't believe someone actually suggested learning programming language in your spare time. Have you fat geeks got nothing better to do? Probably can't even get the fat chicks to date you...

Programming is just fun and you clearly don't have any idea how fun it can be. For example, someone like you or DM can enjoy creating new viruses. I like to make games. And with a language like C++ there is no limit to what you can do. And it's not just for fun, you can also earn some money from this. (I am only 16 and I already had several well paying programming jobs)
Oh, and by the way, I am not fat...
