Poll Question:
Gender of Heroes players?
Here in Norway I don't know any girls who play computer games, so I thought I'd ask what gender the members of HeroesCommunity are.
So what are you, male of female?

I love playing Heroes and I have played Disciples some. I am mostly a turn based strategy kinda girl. I liked the old Nintendo and Super Nintendo adventure games like Final Fantasy. My younger sister actually introduced me to Heroes. I am stuck on it now.

Normally I don't post much here in the tavern but I just made mention of this precise thing in another post in the MaH forum so when I saw this on the index page as one of the last threads posted on I decided to come and post. SO, for the 90 bajillionth time I am female. Yes I am the SapphireRavyn from the zone and yes I am the Raven that is a MaH / ToH Administrator. I know that there are not a LOT of us girls that like to play but we are around, here and there. So please try to remember I am a girl, not a boy. It's not really a BIG deal but it does get frustrating, hehe.

I have a man under covers from time to time (his name online is Glasschain and he's my husband,  ) but I'm not one. hehe. The only reason I actually even mentioned it is I have noticed that when people get angry, particularly at say me as Admin, they are much more confrontational when they think I am male. Most of the people that know I am female are much more understanding it seems. I don't know if it is due to the fact there is no presumed testosterone fight? or if it's just that a majority of the people that know I am female know me well enough to know I am pretty reasonable. The world may never know, lol.

Possible reasons
1) My friends think I am nuts, they dont understand why I play games - theyre boring. Just look at most games, most of them are about stuff wimmin arent really interested in(war for example), and more still most of them arent really social, us wimmins are social maybe thats why we get so easily addicted to games like everquest - heaps of chatting
2) Theyre too busy shopping hehe *ducks from her friends*
3) We're too busy trying to work out male logic (and the men in our lives :/ )
4) We'd rather snuggle
5) Nails break too easily when youre frustrated and start bashing away at the keyboard  heh
No really, its hard to say why wimmin dont play when you personally do. I think a lot of my friends just dont cos they didnt grow up playing games or trying rpg's whereas I did so it sort of carried onto playing comp games. Beats me though

Perhaps they ( the ones who don't play) are afraid of being seen as nerds, geeks, or some other 'unfashionalbe' thing.
Coz all know how important fashion are for girls...

Well I am female and I love playing computer games, I play Heroes occasionally but mostly I play Diablo. Even though it seems to be a male dominated game I have met a lot of females on bnet and at nightshiver.com a diablo site. We dont all chain ourselves to kitchens you know.........
