I don't see what praising H3 or 5 has got to do with the ludicrous building design of Ashan's dungeon faction. Dies-Irae just went along in the helicopter hydra's joke by showing that H5's hydra's also had to helicopter. That you don't like him because he likes the newer games and has the guts to stand up for them does not mean you have to be a hindquarters Stevie.

Well, Haven, Academy and Faketress still do. The rest (excepting Sylvan) never did if you ask me

because snowty "central pillar" structure for all of them which made sure none of them was any unique.

For me, Dungeon never looked good. Like ... ever? In Heroes 2, the dragon tower was odd in front of the swamp, aside the minotaur's maize, well, Warlock town was odd compared to the others. In H3, I felt it had some ok-ish look, but still, never felt like a town, maybe because of the claustrophobic feel about it. H4, military outpost, just like all other towns, even having adapted design for different terrains. H5 and beyond: never liked any of them.

I'll have to agree with most of this. Ironically, I only liked the Dungeon (and consequently, started playing them a bit more) during V. For once, it felt like the town had a cohesive identity.

Not trying to start anything but what about it was remotely town-like?
I can get behind cohesive because everything looked the same.

Glad I never said that it makes sense to me , because it really is a bit weird to have a Hydra dwelling stuck to the roof. Considering that H5's Hydra has legs makes it all the more strange. The H7 Hydra can at least slither and slide down or something...

Also, the dwelling is now called Hissing/Rattling Temple. Why a Temple? I don't think Hydras are really dwelling there, it's more like an altar to...kind of summon them to your cause, after which they emerge from proper caves and crevices all over Ygg-Chall. Or there are some huge tunnel systems which we can't see in the TS.

You can always find an explanation ....maybe not a plausible one, but even so.

Uggh, more and more do I wish I could design my own Heroes game.  Count me as someone who is incredibly underwhelmed by these town screens.

With regards to Dungeon cohesiveness, I'd agree that the homm5 lineup made the most sense.  But it was also my least favorite of the townscreens.  Homm3's Dungeon Townscreen was pretty decent..

I know, I just merely stated a fact.

It's yet another Ashan silliness, don't search for a reasoning coz there is none lol

Wait... I just remember that Ubi-Nox (or Marzhin) did put in the Tower townscreen from H3 (HD style) as part of modding. But here's the question, won't that mess up, like, everything? I mean you have that build menu and buildings won't look the same. Plus, the original H7 townscreen does not position the same buildings and can make clicking them quite troublesome. In all, you'd have to carve out building lines to enable to interact with them.

You can always use UI and press buttons instead of click on town screen itself.

So currently the Soulscar clan is ruling the dungeon faction. However the line-up is pre-soulscar. I guess this means we'll not see dungeon in the final campaign. Maybe the dungeon campaign will tell the rise of the soulscar clan and how they became demon worshippers?

It's as if someone's been saying it ever since 500 pages ago. Also, do you think the Inferno vs Dungeon vote was by chance? No, it was because the lore was already set in stone and they could've swung either way with Raelag / Agrael's story irrespective of which faction got chosen.
