I certainly hope that was sarcastic.

Surgery, iron, the vaccine, modern medicine in its entirety, paper, water filtration, electricity, computers, this very message board, you know what, WAY too much to list.  Just like guns, science doesn't kill people, people kill people.

What can I say, people are idiots sometimes.  You just have to hope that we'll learn from our mistakes before we blow ourselves up.  I have great faith in humanity, and I'm sure that 1000 years from now, they'll look back on us and say "what a bunch of barbarians."  I just hope I'll live long enough to see the events set in motion.

What an idiotic statement.

Yes, and if there were no guns, people would stab each other.  And if there were no knives, they'd hit each other, and if you chopped off their arms, they'd hire people to kill each other.  Violence is in the people, not the technology.  Instead of stopping people who want to hurt each other from doing so, why not stop people from wanting to hurt each other?

Honestly, anti-gun activists cheese me off sometimes.  You know, I fully agree that guns are bad, and have no purpose other than to destroy, and I certainly wouldn't keep a gun in my home, but why not take all that anti-gun energy and channel it into anti-VIOLENCE, because there IS a difference.  To kill a weed, you have to get at the root.  Guns are not the cause of violence, they are a symptom of it.

Science has raised dramatically the quality of human life.  The average caveman lived 18 YEARS, and had about four teeth left when he died of any number of diseases that have been eliminated.  The vaccine alone has saved countless millions.  Would you erase all the accomplishments of science, just to get rid of guns?  I mean, that wouldn't even solve the problem!  Cavemen were a hell of a lot more violent than us!

Science does NOT cause violence.  Science is just applied knowledge, and it has the potential, if applied correctly, to solve any problem, including violence.
