there are a lot of skills. could prove to make a fun and intresting game..as long as it doesnt confuse me

long time no see
well, many probably can expect that i would prefer the proportion distortions of createures the other way round and to less extent (fists and feet), and that i think the creatures in full plate are poorly designed (explanation why is a long story), and i don't like some spell effects that fill almost the whole screen and what looks like a shockwave effect when creatures attack (from screenshots, havn't looked at the demo yet).
nevertheless my opinion of the game graphics is more on the positive side atm. no matter that they chose this somewhat disappointing style, it seems to be done with considerable quality and i am looking forward to downloading and trying the demo, i.e. when i have some more spare time.
btw i think many unupgraded creatures look really good. the unupgraded ghosts is the emblem of undead in my mind. it's like issues that we have denied and imprisoned in our subconscious to protect our ego. subconscious isn't really a perfect trap, so those ghosts come out to haunt us now and then. and unjust punishment could be one of those things that people find hard to accept.

Hey Hydra, why hasn't there been an update at the overview section at the begining (not as a reply I mean)?
There have been lots of changes since December 23rd 2005.

Let me share with ye some of my findings. Due to the place I work (a games magazine), i have participated in the beta, and i recieved, a couple of weeks ago, a preview version that contained 2 singleplayer campaigns (out of the six promised). I still am an enemy of Heroes 5 as a concept, mostly because Nival is a company that focuses mostly on TBT games, such as Silent Storm & Co (witch are great), and the latest failure, H&S, witch maked me wonder a lot about the further developement of H5. I have some friends that entered the latest stage of the Betatest (including Sp), an honour witch i reluctantly refused, friends witch said that Nival is acting like a snow, saying that their game is allready perfect, no need for improvements, all is going great. You all must look a bit behind the scenes.
I played the prevew version and I got a little less violent (comparing to how i was after the multiplayer betatest). It is better, but still not good. I have looket in the story-based criteria and, bluntly, it sucks ass. The first campaign is sort of a tutorial, where you learn stuff (basically for folks not acustom to the Heroes universe), and it gets a little Heroes 3 feeling, with certain improvements (the hero build, spells, special abilities). In game cut scenes are nice, but poorly developed. Plus, so many gramatical mistakes that my head explodes.

The game(HEROES 5) was playing fine the first day i installed it but after that,without having installed anything at all ,the screen flinks 3-4 times and then i get this stupid message: error failed to set display mode!!!!!! i've tried everything!! help someone!!!! i have a geforce fx 5900xt and i did installed the directx9.c as well as the 1.01 patch but it kepps doing that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

maybe you should try this shorcut targetname editing? and add there your wanted game resulution, i dont know how it works, but it can be done almost with every game.

 HAHAHA you haven't played Tote right? These are the games of the future(okay maybe the present),the graphics are incredible compared to H3(i still like H3 but i like H5 more)
